Two men were left with serious injuries after being stabbed in separate attacks within hours of each other. Hours later a 39-year-old was taken to hospital, also suffering stab wounds in nearby St Paul's.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset police said detectives were keeping an open mind as to whether or not the stabbings are linked.

The first took place at 10.25pm last night (Tuesday, March 29) leaving the victim with serious injuries. The second took place in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday, March 30) by Stokes Croft and Hepburn Road in St Paul's. Police said the victim, attacked at around 1am, was left with serious, but not life-threatening injuries. A spokesman for the force said: "At this stage, officers are keeping an open mind as to whether or not these incidents might be linked."
