(Avon Fire & Rescue) Fire at St Werburghs industrial unit

Ashley Trading Estate, Ashley Parade, St Werburghs Crews were called to a fire at an industrial unit involving a machine which is used to manufacture plastic flooring. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used one high pressure hose reel and a water jet to tackle the fire. All persons were accounted for and there were no reports of any injuries. Two adult males suffered smoke inhalation and were conveyed to hospital but were later released.

Four appliances and the turntable ladder attended the fire which caused damage to the ducting and machinery inside the unit. There was also considerable smoke damage throughout the building. Crews which attended the incident were from Temple, Southmead and Bedminster Fire Stations. It is believed the fire started accidentally.
