Friends of St Werburgh's Primary School

Friends of St Werburgh's Primary School (FSWP) is a voluntary group providing support to the school through the organization of events, such as summer fairs and school discos, across the school year. These help the school by raising funds, increasing the diversity of school activities and enhancing community spirit. We operate as a Friends Association, rather than a traditional PTA, in order to include, alongside parents, carers and school staff, those people living or working in the area who do not necessarily have a direct involvement with the school but who appreciate its importance at the heart of the community and who to wish to support it.

We are always very pleased to hear from anyone who would like to get involved with FSWP. There are opportunities to help out either as a committee member or as a helper. Committee members are required to attend regular meetings that take place about every 4 weeks and to help co-ordinate events. Helper's names are kept on a database and are contacted for their support when an event is taking place. They might be asked to help run a tea and coffee stall or to help set up a room for an event for example. Any help is always appreciated and committee members and helpers benefit from being part of a fun and supportive group who socialize outside of meetings too!
